From Biking to Boating

Hello from a rain-washed California! We are having fun traversing the flooded streets of Cerritos! In case you were wondering, California is NOT built for rain. It has been quite the adventure! 

In case you were wondering, "Cerritos" means "little hills" in Spanish. Which was always confusing, since this is a very flat place. So one of the elders here asked a lady that has lived here forever, and she said they called it that because these used to be fields full of cows, and they dropped so much manure, they made... Well, little hills! XD I thought that was hilarious haha :) 

Life has been a bit more tiring on bike, but that is okay. We have been able to make some progress with the Familia Osorio and Hilda. The Familia Osorio has two kids, Fernando and Ramses, that will hopefully be getting baptized on the 1st of April, so that is great! We were able to find quite a few new investigators, which is always gratifying ^-^

Gerry, a recent convert in our area, is just so awesome! He is already more involved in church than the rest of the elders quórum and most other members. He was saying that we should all do some fundraisers to bring money in for the church haha ^-^ He is solid.

Recently I have been pondering the phrase "God can make a willing man able, but He can't make an able man willing." In my opinion, a willingness to do God's will ought to be one of our most sought out traits. Though we should be using our natural talents and abilities, we aren't limited to them, however many or few we may have. God intends to accept us as we are, but he doesn't plan to let us stay that way. So take the advice from Mosíah 3:19 - Become "as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father." I love it. We must learn that. THAT will be more important than any other talent or skill we develop, because from that one skill of submissiveness to God will sprout a multitude of abilities we can use to help others and find success. Success is bringing yourself joy by bringing joy to others.
